Holy Fool By Kevin M. Hibshman

I will keep on loving those rapacious angels as they

dig their nails into my hair.

Daring me to shout “Hallelujah!”

Same for those demons scoping details of

my sordid fantasies.

They settle on me with savage glee

just around midnight.

We never need lie to each other.

Life is one endless barter until you have

auctioned off your last hope.

You can still visit me.

I have little left to offer but

we can mumble drunken reveries to that

old god who has long gone deaf.

Kevin M. Hibshman has had poems published in many journals and magazines world wide.
